What We Do
All at the Architectural Heritage Fund were very sorry to hear of the death of Malcom Crowder OBE. Malcolm was a tireless campaigner for the country’s heritage and was a Trustee of the Architectural Heritage Fund from 1996 to 2014. He was a leading figure in numerous heritage and conservation projects, particularly in Norwich through the Norwich Preservation Trust. He led a number of highly significant projects in the city, including the Grade II* thatched Briton’s Arms, and the great 16th Century Grade II* listed merchant’s house at 11-15 Fye Bridge Street, now home to the Anteros Arts Foundation.
As well as leading many projects directly, he was also an advisor to several organisations up and down the country and acted as the first Chair of the United Kingdom Association of Building Preservation Trusts (UKAPT), which then became the Heritage Network.
