The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) today announces the launch of Open High Streets, a new three-year programme of capacity building events to support not-for-private-profit organisations to deliver projects in historic buildings in England’s high streets and town centres. The programme is part of the AHF’s Transforming Places Through Heritage initiative and will be delivered in partnership by The Heritage Trust Network, Locality and Stir to Action. It is funded by a £15 million grant from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Designed to support and inspire organisations through workshops, expert advice, case studies and peer support, the programme will establish regional networks in the North, South and Midlands to encourage the sharing of best practice and lessons learned. The official launch of the programme and Northern network will take place at Halifax’s iconic Piece Hall on Thursday 26th March 2020, with later events in the South and Midlands to be announced.
