Matthew joined the AHF from the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) where, as Director of Regeneration, he led a highly successful team developing innovative new uses for historic churches. Many of these projects, including Quay Place, Ipswich and All Souls Bolton, have received national and international recognition. Matthew also developed the Trust’s work on social impact measurement, including its first ‘Theory of Change’, and developed a consultancy service to enable churches to access the CCT’s expertise.

Prior to joining the Churches Conservation Trust Matthew worked in the Regeneration Directorate of Lambeth Council, developing and managing a range of economic development and social enterprise projects. He had previously worked as a consultant for the regeneration and economic development consultancy, Shared Intelligence.

Matthew also has considerable experience in the third sector as a Trustee and Chair of the environmental social enterprise, Forest Recycling Project.
