Based in Manchester, Annoushka joined the AHF in 2019 as Programme Officer for the North West of England. Annoushka is passionate about the potential of community-led historic buildings projects to act as catalysts for regeneration. She was a founder member and chair of ‘Friends of Stretford Public Hall’. Leading the campaign to stop the local authority from selling the grade II listed hall and then developed it into a much loved multi-purpose Community and Arts venue. She has experience in tackling a range of issues heritage community groups face: From listed buildings consent to governance, bid writing to running a community shares campaign. She also is a part-time Acupuncturist running a not-for-profit holistic clinic. She spent ten years working for Manchester City Council as a Homeless Families Support Officer providing advice to families around issues such as domestic violence, drugs and alcohol and immigration. She studied at Salford University to gain a BSc in Acupuncture and at Sussex University to get a BA in environmental and development studies.Annoushka Deighton is the AHF Programme Officer for the North West of England.
