The AHF would like to thank our clients who took time to complete our Project Impact Survey this summer. We have started analysing the results and there are already some encouraging responses. As a thank you for participating, we entered respondents into a prize draw to win a £1,000 donation towards their charitable objectives. This year the winner was Viva Arts and Community Group base in Soham.

Viva Arts and Community Group has a 20-year history of producing high quality performances for people from isolated or culturally deprived communities. Operating from a former church in Soham, Viva has now acquired Spencer’s Mill, a former 19th century mill building which it intends to bring back to life as an events space for the community. Plans for the building include the creation of an auditorium and rehearsal area, events space, foyer and box office, dressing rooms, gallery, offices, bar and café. In 2018, the AHF supported the regeneration of the mill, awarding a Project Development Grant of £30,000 to match their Heritage Enterprise development grant from National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Dan Schuman, Trustee for Viva Arts and Community Group said “Viva are so thrilled and grateful for this prize. The AHF has helped us so much in the last 12 months and this is the cherry on the cake! We will put the money towards our Mill Project, which aims to redevelop a derelict Edwardian Mill building in our town.”

A full impact report based on our survey data collected will be published as part of our AHF Annual Review later this year.
