Laura Williams

Development Manager (England, and lead East of England)

Laura joined the Architectural Heritage Fund in September 2019 as the Transforming Places Through Heritage Programme Officer for the South and East of England. In April 2023, she was appointed as Development Manager for England and the lead for East of England. 

Laura has extensive experience in grant management and the heritage and charitable sector. Most recently she has been working with grant makers the Henry Smith Charity, Sussex Community Foundation, the Community Foundation for Surrey and the Heritage Lottery Fund advising applicants, assessing projects, producing guidance and evaluating impact. This builds on more than 20 years in the heritage sector, with a particular focus on community engagement and raising funds for and managing capital projects, including Valentines Mansion, the Victorian Volk's Railway and major projects for the Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton & Hove.  Laura studied History at Swansea University and has a Masters in Anglo-Dutch history and a PhD in 17th and 18th century English towns.
